Otago's country golfers convincingly beat the top town team in Wanaka on Sunday, winning 15.5-8.5.
The country team won eight of the 12 morning matches to lead by four at lunch.
In the afternoon, town won four more games, while Lynda Rendall put the team a slightly better position with a halved match.
Country's dominance was evident on the individual scoreboard, with Shani Arona, Maria Arhanic, Laura Hoskin, Raewyn Devlin and Belinda Scott each posting two wins.
Kathryn Fletcher (No 3) and Anne McKenzie (No 10) were the only two town golfers to achieve this feat, while Rendall emerged unbeaten with a win and a half.
After the tournament, the selectors named eight players to compete in the quadrangular tournament in Waimate on September 12 and 13.
The team reflected the results of the town-country clash with a 5-3 split in favour of country.
A feature of the team is the inclusion of year 9 St Hildas pupil Laura Hoskin, who will make her debut at this level.
