Tom Jackson and Ant Hancock both scored hat tricks.
Patrick Fleming turned defence into attack in the 12th minute with a 50m driven pass from his own defensive zone that unlocked the Mosgiel defence and left striker Jackson with only the keeper to beat, which he did with style.
After 28 minutes, another telling ball from Fleming evaded Mosgiel defender Matt Brook and Jackson was again the recipient, with a strong shot giving the keeper no chance.
Mosgiel came quicker out of the blocks in the second half with veteran Phil Kelly leading the way.
An incisive run by Tim Dunn finished with an unselfish pass left Kelly free in the box to slot home the goal from 14m.
It was game on in the 63 minute, when Kelly notched his second, after receiving the ball in the area and turning on a dime to find space and slot the equaliser.
Caversham then nudged ahead with a quality strike just outside the box by Hancock, but the entertaining game was spoiled when Mosgiel's Michael Abbott was sent off for a bad challenge on Caversham's Harley Rodeka.
Caversham added three goals in the last 15 minutes to maintain its winning run.
At Sunnyvale, Dunedin Technical displayed patience to gain a 1-0 win over a Green Island team determined to keep the game tight.
Technical worked without reward until the 85th minute, when Michael Flaws found space and time to fire an accurate shot past the Island keeper.
An exciting 3-3 draw was the final result at Ellis Park in the match between Roslyn-Wakari and Northern.
Northern started stronger with Seamus Gray scoring from 10m after a mazy dribbling run left three defenders in his wake.
Tim Smith scored Northern's second before Mike Cunningham replied for Roslyn with a penalty.
Two second-half strikes by Damien Foster and Tim Dalman maintained the equilibrium for the host side.
Grants Braes beat University, thanks to a well-taken goal by Peter Alcock, while the Spirit enjoyed its Saturday night celebrations in Queenstown, after a 1-0 win over Rovers, thanks to Matt Webb.
