Georgia Plimmer’s maiden international century helped the White Ferns to a series win over Sri Lanka yesterday.

The opening batter’s solid 112 from 120 balls enabled her side to claim victory by 98 runs at the Saxton Oval in Nelson.

Veteran Otago player Suzie Bates played a supporting role, scoring 53 off 69 balls on the other end.

New Zealand had won the toss and chose to bat, notching a total off 280 for six off 50 overs.

Sri Lanka were all out for 182 after 50 overs.

Jess Kerr picked up a handy three wickets and bowled economically, giving up only 22 runs off 10 overs.

The Kiwis won the series 2-0 after the first match was rained out.
