A round-up of premier grade cricket club games played in Dunedin over the weekend.
Albion 245 beat CDK 121/9
Albion middle-order batter Joshua Olliver clubbed 94 from 81 balls to help set up a comfortable win over CDK in the Dunedin premier club competition at Tonga Park on Saturday.
The Eagles had slumped to 25 for three but Olliver counterattacked, whacking 10 fours and two sixes to help his side post 245.
Patrick Arnold (25) and Tommy Clout (36) added some valuable runs. And Clout played a big role with the ball as well.
The left-armer took three for 15 and fellow strike bowler James Brown nabbed four for 42 to help effectively bowl out CDK.
Their No11 never came out to bat. Navi Deoi top-scored for CDK with 41 and Jack Wright took four for 67 in a losing effort.
University-Grange 170 lost to Taieri 171/6
Taieri seamer Regan Flaws teamed up with Kyle Hastie to rip through the University-Grange top order and set up a four-wicket win at Logan Park.
Flaws took four for 26 and Hastie grabbed two for 14.
University slumped to 31 for five.
But Volts left-armer Andrew Hazeldine thumped 52 from 49 and Luke Russell made a patient knock of 58 to help their side post 170.
Opener Cameron Jackson (45) and Cameron Elliott (43 not out) put their side on course for victory despite a late collapse.
Lahiru Vimukthi grabbed three for 27 and Zac Cumming took two for 26.
North East Valley 109 beat Green Island 58
North East Valley top-order batter Hunter Kindley found a way on a tough pitch against Green Island at Sunnyvale.
His 40 from 49 proved to be a winning knock on a day when the bowlers utterly dominated.
Valley were bowled out for 109. Mayank Malhotra took three for 15 and Blair Soper, Daniel Lawrence and Jack Mockford took a brace of wickets each.
But former Otago Volts seamer Sam Blakely was on target for Valley. The veteran turned back to clock to take five for 19 from eight overs to help dismiss Green Island for just 58.
Kaleb McKay was hitting the mark as well. He took three for 27. Five players made a duck for Green Island.
