Three washouts in nine games is not a great advertisement for the Queenstown Events Centre.
But events manager JD Marrable says New Zealand Cricket (NZC) loves the venue and is committed to hosting games at the picturesque ground.
Yesterday's one-day international between New Zealand and Pakistan lasted all of 20 minutes before persistent rain ruled out further play.
For cricket fans in the region, it was a bitter pill.
The last one-dayer at the venue was also a washout and the game before that was a one-sided affair against Bangladesh that finished long before its scheduled conclusion.
In 2005, a game against Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
"It was frustrating to say the least," Marrable said.
"We've had fantastic weather leading in to [yesterday's] game, so it is a massive disappointment. More so for the crowd. We had a good walk-up crowd of 1200 and had pre-sold 1800 tickets. I think we would have got to 4000, which was projected.
"It is disappointing but I just spoke to NZC and they do love coming here, Sky loves coming here, and they [NZC] did assure me that Queenstown has a future for ODIs."
Marrable said the centre would not take a financial hit.
The company is paid a match management fee and venue rental fee from NZC to deliver the match.
There is some good news for the fans.
Refunds are available from ticket retailers and, with inbound tours from Zimbabwe and South Africa next season, the Queenstown Events Centre will get its day in the sun.
