Those Sunrisers Hyderabad got a good deal on Trent Boult didn't they?
The Indian Premier League team paid $814,000 for the New Zealand left-armer in the league's auction on Monday.
That was a steal based on his opening over during the World Cup match against Scotland at the University Oval yesterday.
Boult started with a wide but was soon on target with two cracking deliveries which swung in and nipped back off the pitch.
They were too good for Calum MacLeod and Hamish Gardiner.
The best that pair could do was get their pad in the way and they were promptly given out lbw.
Boult's hat-trick ball was wide of off stump and swung even further away.
But he was menacing early.
Fellow opener Tim Southee picked up two early wickets as well to leave the visiting side reeling at 12 for four.
Scotland staged a mini revival through Matt Machan and Richie Berrington.
Despite some very shaky batting from the home side, Scotland's 142 was not enough.
The Black Caps lost seven wickets in a needlessly stressful pursuit.
''It got a lot scarier than we wanted, I guess,'' Boult said.
''I was rushing around in the changing room trying to chuck the pads on thinking we might be in a little bit of trouble.
''We got there in the end.''
The first half of the game was near perfect, though, and Boult (two for 21) set the tone with his opening over.
''It swung around really nicely and there was some good assistance from the wicket, as well.
''It was just nice to be out there and assisting or contributing to a bowling performance and to a win.
"As a unit we stuck together nicely and it is nice that everyone put their hand up and was counted in some way.''
