The Waitaki Girls' High School pupil, in her fourth year in the event, plays Tessa Hocking (Napier Girls') in one semifinal at the North East Valley green today.
Hocking had two losses yesterday.
It could be an all-Otago girls final.
Sarah Davidson (Roxburgh Area School) plays Connie Rowlands (Linwood College) in the other semifinal.
Monte Pawa (Kaitaia College) remains the favourite to win the boys title.
He plays Clayton Hockley (Takapuna Grammar) in one semifinal, while Ewan Wong (Hutt Valley High School) meets Dean Drummond (Hastings Boys') in the other.
The girls pairs will feature favourites Katelyn Inch and Brittany Tyson (St Margaret's) playing Caitlin Thomson and Lucy Whitelock (Palmerston North Girls), and Kerry Heffer and Georgia McGee (Southland Girls') playing Donella Groen and Margaret Huta (Rotorua Girls').
Cameron Higgins and Thomas Eminson (Tauranga Boys') start as favourites in their boys pairs semifinal against Gavin Sims and Jordan Bishop (Orewa College), while Jordan Linn and Joseph Doyle (Coastal Taranaki) play Scott Mansfield and Tu Solomon (Kaikoura) in the other semifinal.
The playoffs start at North East Valley at 10.15am, with finals to follow at 11.30am and presentations at 1pm.
