Part of a state highway had to be closed this afternoon following a two-car crash on the Lewis Pass on the West Coast.
A police spokeswoman said they were notified of a collision between two cars between Lewis Pass (State Highway 7) and Maruia about 1.05pm.
The road was blocked but no injuries were reported.
A traffic controller was at the scene, she said.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said one appliance from Reefton Station and one from Springs Junction Station attended and crews helped to clear the road.
Normal traffic was able to resume about 1.40pm, he said.
