After an unfavourable start to the season Treble Cone ski area near Wanaka will open tomorrow.
A lack of snow has meant the ski field had to postpone its opening day which was scheduled for last month.
Terrain will be limited until snow conditions allowed for the entire mountain to be opened.
The ski field's longest run, Easy Rider would be open, alongside the platter lift and learner’s area.
General manager Toby Arnott said while it would not be the "powder day" everyone had hoped for, he was looking forward to seeing both locals and visitors enjoying themselves.
The area's three other ski fields, The Remarkables, Coronet Peak and Cardrona are already open.
