Rain pushes lake level up 2m

Heavy rain in the headwaters has resulted in  Lake Wānaka’s level rising nearly 2m in the past few weeks.

The Wānaka tree is once again surrounded by water and the main wharf has its decking half submerged.

While Lake Wānaka is uncontrolled, the power-generating lakes are also nearly full.
