Tickets for the Aspiring Conversations Festival in April have been flying out the door, forcing the organisers to change the venue size for one of the more popular shows, Adventures with Emilie. Wānaka Festival of Colour general manager Ruth Heath said the box office had been going "really well" and only a few shows had tickets left for the April 4-7 season of kōrero.

"We’re experiencing a sold-out session each week at the moment, which is exciting.

"In saying that we do have a number of available sessions with tickets," she said.

Aspiring Conversations is bringing several experts and well-known speakers, authors and artists to town deliver a range of thought-provoking, challenging and entertaining experiences.

Adventures with Emilie was quick to sell out, Mrs Heath said.

"There are plenty of tickets available to that one now. We do recommend people try and secure tickets sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment as tickets are constantly selling," she said.

Adventures with Emilie is the story of guest speaker and author Victoria Bruce, who quit her corporate job in 2021 to walk the Te Araroa Trail with her young daughter Emilie.

Over the 3000km journey the pair faced Covid lockdowns, harsh elements and even a near-death experience.

Tickets are also still available for "AI v Librarians", "Quintessentially Irish", "What is the Tipping Point?" (featuring Wanaka entrepreneur Monique Kelly), "The Drinking Game",  "Syndromes and Surgery,  Politics and Personal".

More session information is available on the festival website.
