Fire and Emergency NZ crews and several appliances in Southland were called to deal with a house fire early today.
A spokesman said they were alerted to the blaze about 2.45am in Bayswater, near Otautau.
''We had seven units from several different stations responding to the fire.
"There were four pumping appliances, two tankers and a support unit.''
When crews arrived they found the fire ''totally involved'' and spent about two and a-half hours at the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries, he said, and no investigator was required.
