Police have arrested a man for allegedly presenting a Taser and making threats during an altercation in Gore.
A police spokeswoman said Gore police arrested a 27-year-old man on Wednesday.
He was sought in relation to an incident at the BP Railway Esplanade on Saturday.
The man is alleged to have pulled a Taser on another man, following an altercation between the two.
The arrested man has been charged with unlawful possession of a restricted weapon and threatening a person and was scheduled to appear in Invercargill District Court today.
An associate of the man, a 24-year-old woman, was also arrested and has been charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The charges relate to an incident in Invercargill on Sunday when the woman allegedly failed to stop after being signalled to do so by police.
The woman is scheduled to appear in Gore District Court on June 15.
Police were grateful to the Gore community for the information provided to assist inquiries, the spokeswoman said.
