Milton rugby uniforms pinched

A Milton rugby team may have to wear their alternate strip after thieves stole their uniform.

A garage on Burns St was entered between November 25 and March 12 and two bags of clothing, along with some that was hanging, were taken.

Senior Sergeant Liz Waru, of Dunedin, said the items were listed as "rugby gear" and nothing else was taken.

"They have obviously put them away for the non-season. They have gone back to get them as rugby season has come about and they are gone," she said.

Meanwhile, a second Milton burglary resulted in the theft of two knitted jumpers.

Snr Sgt Waru said someone entered a High St home through an unlocked front door between 6pm on Monday and 10am yesterday.

One jumper was described as being black, red and green while the other was cream.
