Emergency services - and heavy rain - have helped contain a scrub fire at Summer Hill Rd in Kaitangata today.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to the blaze just before 10.30am.
Crews from Papatowai, Balclutha and Waihola are there.
There is no road access and firefighters were assisted by two helicopters.
A Fenz spokeswoman said the fire was of “reasonable size”, but had been contained shortly after 4pm, with the help of heavy rain in the area.
