Wellness day for women to reflect

Women are invited to take time out to focus on themselves next month.

Rural Women South Canterbury is holding a women’s wellness day on July 1 at the Grey Way Lounge with Motivating Me health and wellness coach Alicia Mabey.

The two sessions aim to give women time to think about themselves, reduce burnout and lift energy, provide helpful tools, and help set realistic and maintainable goals.

Rural Women South Canterbury co-ordinator Margaret Chapman said it was a chance for women to take some time out and "fill up their cup".

"We decided we needed to do something this year to give women a boost, and wellness and wellbeing are pretty topical at the moment."

The event was split into two sessions — from 10am to noon, and 7pm to 9pm — so as to cater to women who preferred to attend daytime events, and working women who were free in the evenings.

"We’re lucky that Alicia will tailor it to the women who she has in front of her."

With light refreshments provided, it was hoped the day would also provide opportunities to socialise and make connections with other women.

The day is subsidised by Rural Women South Canterbury, but there is a cost of $10 for members, or $15 for non-members. All women are welcome.

Registrations must be received by June 24 and can be made via the humanitix website, or by emailing Mrs Chapman on mgchapman@xtra.co.nz
