A European festival import set to compete with Queenstown's Winter Festival this year has been pushed back.
Snowboxx, touted as Europe's largest winter festival, was supposed to be held at NZSki skifields the Remarkables and Coronet Peak this winter.
Instead, it has been postponed until 2020 due to ''scheduling conflicts'', organisers say.
NZSki chief executive Paul Anderson said the festival organisers decided to delay the festival to allow them to ''do it justice''.
NZSki had planned to run its night skis to complement the festival this year, but would once again hold its large night-ski parties.
Snowboxx organisers had planned a ''week-long programme of international music and events''.
