The first record was $5million for 14 Advance Tce, which was sold to a New Zealand buyer by Walker & Co Realty’s Hamish Walker.
He says he had three parties vying for it over a six-week campaign.
This sale was then trumped early this month by neighbouring 16 Advance Tce, which was sold to a local buyer by Oliver Road’s Cam Winter.
Mountain Scene understands the sale price was about $5.8m.
Winter — who describes the five-bedder as "an ultra high-spec home, meticulously built and beautifully finished" — says it was on the market for a long time, originally with another agency.
"There’s a future owner for every home.

He says there was slow but steady interest from buyers across the usual feeder markets including Auckland, Australia and Singapore.
"It’s a result that further reinforces the stable demand for high-quality, high-value homes in the area.
"Global uncertainties continue to fuel demand for luxury real estate in Queenstown, including from returning expats and those moving permanently to NZ from elsewhere.
"We continue to hope further announcements by the NZ government will include adjustments to overseas buyer settings which will of course lead to more timely sales at better prices."
Winter notes Advance Tce — overlooking McDonnell Rd and The Hills golf course — now boasts the three highest residential sale prices in Arrowtown in the past three years.
Walker says in his opinion Advance Tce and adjoining Cotter Ave are Arrowtown’s premium addresses.
"[14 Advance Tce] was the third property I’ve sold on those streets in the past year."
He says this was also the fifth Whakatipu suburb record he’s set in the past 18 months.
And he’s confident his firm will reclaim the Arrowtown record, too, as it’s calling for offers over $5.95m for 4 Cardigan St.
