The Mint Chicks will introduce young Australians to the joys of Lake Wakatipu, Wanaka, the Fergburger and Amisfield Winery as part of a New Zealand promotion on MTV Australia next month.
The indie punk-rockers from Auckland join Christchurch rapper Scribe and Liam Finn to reveal their personal vision of Aotearoa in the multi-platform campaign by MTV and Tourism New Zealand.
The initiative is designed to attract more Australians aged 16 to 24 to New Zealand, particularly first-timers.
MTV cameras followed the Mint Chicks from their performance at Wanaka's Rippon Festival in February to swimming in nearby Lake Wanaka before travelling up the Treble Cone skifield access road to enjoy the view.
The band, headed for Have A Shot, stopped for a couple of beers at the Cardrona Hotel, then visited Amisfield Winery before jumping off a jetty into Lake Wakatipu and eating out at Fergburger.
The Chicks and Finns Guide To NZ will air in early April, with a confirmed date yet to be announced.
The programme was launched on MTV Australia and mtv.com.au earlier this month.
