One man was taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter after a car collided with a a tour bus near Queenstown.
Police were called to the incident about 7.15pm yesterday after reports a Mitsubishi Galant had been T-boned by a tour bus, Senior Sergeant Dave Scott said.
The car's driver received serious injuries to his legs as well as head injuries and the passenger received moderate head injuries.
The men, whose ages could not be confirmed last night, were first taken to Lakes District Hospital an initial assessment.
''It appears the car has pulled out in front of the bus and been T-boned,'' he said.
The 33 occupants of the bus were uninjured and all were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, Snr Sgt Scott said.
One of the injured men was later reported to have been transported to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter.
Fire Service Southern communications shift manager Brent Dunn said the Fire Service had been required to cut the driver from the car.
