Organisers hope to get 40 riders for the February 18 jam at the Queenstown Mountain Bike Club-operated park, with room for a few extra wild-card entries on the day.
Jump Park supervisor Nathan Greenwood said "quite a few big names" had been confirmed, and the rest of the invitations were going out this week.
Professional riders confirmed include Anthony Napolitan, of the US, and UK brothers Kye and Toby Forte, all athletes signed with Red Bull.
"Basically, it's going to be an amazing show. If you want to see the world's best doing what they do best, then they will be getting out there, weather permitting," Mr Greenwood said.
There will be 10-man jump sessions throughout the day, with the top five competitors from each progressing to the next round, closer to the $3000 top prize.
At stake are $1000 prizes for best line taken and best trick, and there will be a barbecue and music.
As sponsors, Red Bull have also provided money to give the park a "spruce-up' with new topsoil and some picnic tables.
Mr Greenwood said it was "always nice to get some new dirt", especially with Fulton Hogan and others pitching in to help, and he welcomed any offers of more topsoil.
