Kayaker Rene Weisswange (25), of Germany, is still missing nearly two weeks after he disappeared while paddling on Lake Hawea on August 29.
No new information came to light during a shore search on Thursday and there was no search yesterday.
Constable Emma Fleming, of Wanaka, said scaled-down shoreline searches would continue over the weekend with a review scheduled early next week.
If the search parties were satisfied they had done everything they could do, a decision would be made to suspend the search, pending any new developments, she said.
