A 22-year-old man with gang affiliations who disappeared 10 days ago has been found alive and well in Upper Hutt.
Karl Baars, from Lower Hutt, left his father's home in Manor Park on February 1 saying he was going to a local dairy in Silverstream but never returned.
Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell, officer in charge of Lower Hutt CIB, said Mr Baars was found at an Upper Hutt house about 7am today.
"Police believe Mr Baars had been the subject of physical threats and was hiding out as a result," he said.
Early police inquiries suggested Mr Baars had gang connections in Wairarapa and the Hutt Valley.
