Counsel representing parties involved in the Environment Court case on the bid by Nzone Skydive Queenstown to increase operations near Jacks Point agreed on Thursday to resume the hearing next week.
Commissioners Russell Howie and John Mills told the court Judge Jon Jackson had taken ill and was unable to travel from Christchurch to resume the hearing in the Queenstown District Court.
Counsel were offered the choice of either continuing the hearing with the commissioners or adjourning until Judge Jackson could return to Queenstown.
Counsel Russell Bartlett, of Auckland, on behalf of Skydive Queenstown Ltd, trading as Nzone, said all counsel were looking for a single decision from the court, not a deadlock if a decision came to a vote, so were content to wait till Tuesday.
