NZSKI is short-listing and interviewing applicants for the position of Coronet Peak ski area manager, after the departure of long-time NZSki employee Hamish McCrostie in December.
NZSki chief executive James Coddington said more than 60 applicants had applied for the position.
Due to privacy issues he could say only that applicants came from ''all walks of life and all different industries''.
''We always knew it was going to be a long process,'' he said, but he was hopeful NZSki would have someone in place sometime in April, ahead of Coronet Peak's scheduled opening on June 8.
NZSki is recruiting instructors for the Snowsports School. Mr Coddington said there were 10-20 jobs available in Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. Across the three mountains, including Mt Hutt in Canterbury, about 1000 staff were needed.
