Raglan artist Aaron Kereopa, best known for his textured paintings on surf boards, joins Wakatipu illustrator, graphic designer and print maker Laura Shallcrass and pounamu carver Luke Leaf for the reopening.
Gallery owner Mark Moran decided in March to move his Toi o Tahuna contemporary art gallery from Church Lane after six years and have it share the first-floor space above Kapa on Rees St when it became available.
"I actually found my best clients at Toi had found me by talking to Kapa and were happy to walk a few blocks across town," Mr Moran said yesterday.
"Now they'll be able to go upstairs and I'll have a lot more options for them and more capacity to hold large groups."
Mr Moran, who also part-owned kitchenware retailer Merch in Remarkables Park Town Centre, continued to work with his core staff of gallery manager Claire Frooms and sales associates Amy Willey and Grace William.
Robyn Kahukiwa and Para Matchitt were among the artists represented in Toi o Tahuna.
• The Kereopa, Shallcrass and Leaf exhibition preview and the first look at the merged and revamped gallery on Rees St are on from 5.30pm to 7.30pm today.
