Stand by for the biggest local rugby game of the season.
Arrowtown plays Wakatipu in one semifinal of the eight-team Central Otago competition tomorrow after the teams finished the regular season second and third respectively.
That gives Arrowtown hosting rights, but the game may still need to be moved to a neutral ground - the Frankton Events Centre - if Jack Reid Park has not thawed out before the 2.45pm kick off.
Regardless of where the game is played, Wakatipu will need all its big guns - in particular Toi Roberts, Ben Blakely and Tom Kelly - fit and firing if it is to upset the in-form Arrowtown outfit.
The team is also welcoming back Todd Schmidt as it looks for someone to direct the side around the field.
For Arrowtown, the biggest threat is over-confidence, after it played its best rugby of the season last week against Cromwell to regain the White Horse Cup.
Loose forwards Daniel Dodds, Aidan Winter and Ben Chisholm are just three stars in a forward pack that has dominated opposition over the past weeks.
Although all the signs point to an Arrowtown win, it would be foolish to dismiss a proud Wakatipu side determined to go one better than last season.
In their previous clashes this season, Arrowtown drew with Wakatipu at home and then won 10-7 in Queenstown. At stake tomorrow is a final against the winner of the other semifinal, between Maniototo and Cromwell.
