ORFU junior development officer Warren Kearney said 32 teams from years 3 to 8 from Queenstown Primary, Arrowtown School, Wakatipu High School and St Josephs School took part at the Queenstown Recreation Ground.
"It's a chance to give kids some physical exercise.
"They can have a run around and get to throw, catch, run and pass," he said.
Arrowtown School teams won each of the three age-group finals and will face the winning teams from tournaments in Wanaka, Alexandra and Cromwell, in Cromwell on March 29.
The regional final will act as the curtain-raiser for Otago's first NPC game at Carisbrook later this year.
