Changes to improve access to the Burger King drive-through at Terrace Junction on Frankton Rd have been proposed by the owners of the retail and commercial development.
A resource consent application was made by Terrace Junction Properties to address traffic congestion caused in busy periods when traffic using the drive-through blocks access to customers using the short-term parking outside Alta House.
It is proposed that drive-though traffic will be separated from the other customers by yellow-painted speed humps which would "visually channel" the customers at an earlier stage.
Four car parks would be lost in the alterations, and a wheelchair-access car park would be reduced to normal dimensions to accommodate a new pedestrian crossing.
