Wakatipu entertainers (from left) Lisa Moore, Fiona Bracken, Amanda Fernehough, Nicole McLean, Melita Gizilis, Paul Halsted and Findlay Brentwood were among 18 performers called back on Sunday to the QPact Rooms for roles in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Director Marty Newell and the creative team shortlisted hopefuls for key roles after auditions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Co-production manager Hilary Finnie said Showbiz Queenstown will soon call for more male ensemble members to join.
The men would not be required to sing, just move around the stage.
The musical, given a modern-day setting by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, will be performed in the Queenstown Memorial Centre on May 15-24.
