Popular party destination the World Bar has announced it is getting into the spirit of the Queenstown Winter Festival for the first time with a slate of artists of international calibre.

Winter Sounds is billed by the bar as an "epic night of live music showcasing some of New Zealand's finest and most established musicians" on Thursday, June 28.

World Bar marketing manager Tamara Ashby said after the apres ski party was broadcast live by George FM, Winter Sounds would begin with Queenstown DJ Downtown Brown on the decks.

Singer-songwriter Hollie Smith, a Queenstown favourite, will perform live before the collaboration of Ahoribuzz, also known as Aaron Tokona, of Cairo Knife Fight, Riki Gooch, of Trinity Roots, and Eru Dangerspiel on drums, soul sister LA Mitchell, of Fly My Pretties, Sola Rosa, on vocals and keys, and Aaron's cousin Hori on bass.

Olmecha Supreme will blend reggae, jazz, blues and hip-hop, before top DJ Sir-Vere brings the night to an end.

Tickets cost $60 from the Shotover St bar and Ticket Master.
