The 2011 season came to an end on Tuesday after 25 classic and contemporary films and documentaries from New Zealand and around the world were presented in Dorothy Brown's Cinema, Arrowtown.
The season had been a successful one as the society had expanded its membership and its activities in the community, Ms Surrey said in her president's report.
"One of the highlights of the year was the Local Shorts Evening. We invited local film-makers to contribute a short film with a local connection.
"A successful screening was held with a full house at the cinema. It is hoped that this project will continue in future years." Cristina Robinson returned as vice-president and Debbie Nelson returned as secretary-treasurer.
The society opened its season with Nights of Cabiria on May 3, the first film it screened when the group started in Fraser's Bar, Queenstown, 10 years earlier.
Films presented this year with the highest attendances were Home, Russian Ark, Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion, Wendy and Lucy and Ngati.
The 2012 season of 25 more films will be screened from May 1.
