The final round of the Southern Series downhill mountain bike event will be held at the Snow Park on the Pisa Range on Saturday.
Bike Wanaka expects more than 80 entries from around the South Island. Committee member Jamie Greenway said Wanaka's Cam Johnson had an unassailable lead in the series, after recent performances at Clyde, Bluff, Dunedin and Queenstown, but would still be competing.
The case is not so clear-cut for Invercargill rider Shannon Miller, who leads the small field in the women's series, comprising herself, Naomi Wilson of Queenstown and Phoebe Cores of Wanaka.
Results of the veteran men's and junior men's series will also be decided on Saturday, Mr Greenway said.
"Last week at the Queenstown race, there were nine women competing. So we hope there will be a few more on the day," he said.
