Enthusiastic, team-playing and character-suitable people are welcome to audition this weekend for the latest production by Remarkable Theatre - and no experience is necessary.

The amateur theatre company will hold auditions for Elizabeth Coleman's Secret Bridesmaids' Business, in the Showbiz Queenstown rooms, on Isle St, tomorrow and Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

An excerpt from the play was performed by Remarkable Theatre as part of its compilation of comic scenes and sketches at the Queenstown Gardens in January.

Production manager and treasurer Melanie Grindell, of Queenstown, said this week Secret Bridesmaids' Business was a comedy-drama which touched on fidelity, marriage, truth and friendship.

Director Tori Keating, an Australian who has directed in Queenstown for the past four years, will audition budding actors for the five female roles and one male role.

The characters are Colleen, the mother who wants everything perfect on the big day; Meg, the excited bride; Lucy, a free-spirited and outspoken bridesmaid; Angela, a homebody bridesmaid; Naomi, the bride's naive friend; and charming groom-to-be James.

Remarkable Theatre presents Secret Bridesmaids' Business in the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall, from September 1 to 3.
