The final touches were being made to the New Zealand Golf Open's hospitality hub, Main Street, yesterday.

Golfers and their caddies watched from the relative comfort of the Players' Lounge as workers rushed to put up tents and finish corporate stalls, as a southerly squall raked the Hills golf course with rain, wind, and chilly temperatures.

Main Street visitors will be able to get a close-up view of many of the professional golfers at this year's tournament, with the relocation of the Players' Lounge to near the entrance of the hospitality hub.

A purpose-made putting and chipping green is also located outside the Players' Lounge and within easy view of popular refreshment tents the Green Room and Joe's Garage.

With the 525m, par-five, 13th hole just over the back of Main Street, patrons will be close enough to keep an eye on the golfing action as the leading players progress through to the back five holes.
