Cavalcade gives groups $16,500

The Cavalcade Host Town Committee has given $16,500 to a range of Wanaka organisations for helping with the finale celebrations on February 27, which attracted thousands of spectators and featured more than 600 cavalcade participants.

The major recipients were Wanaka Rotary $4010 (catering) and Upper Clutha Rugby Club $1817 (infrastructure, tents and accommodation).

Other recipients included the Wanaka Masonic Lodge (vehicle transfers) and the Upper Clutha Women's Lions (road cleaning).

The 2011 Otago Goldfields Cavalcade will finish in Oamaru.
