Police have named the young girl who died in a farm accident near Twizel on Sunday.
She was Katie Jane Lamb (7).
Rural Canterbury Area Commander, Inspector Dave Gaskin said today the thoughts of the police were with Katie's family.
"This was a tragic accident and our thoughts are with Katie's family at this very difficult time as they come to terms with what has happened."
Mr Gaskin said it appeared Katie had fallen from a vehicle and been run over.
The matter had now been referred to the Coroner.
