Six tenders have been received for three commercial buildings in central Oamaru which, collectively, could be worth more than $1.6 million.
The buildings have been offered for sale by the Waitaki District Council.
However, whether any of the buildings will be sold will depend on deliberations today by the council's property committee.
The committee will receive a report on the tenders, which closed on October 10, in committee, because of commercial sensitivity.
It will make a recommendation on whether to accept any tenders to a full council meeting.
The council's corporate services manager, Stephen Halliwell, said yesterday the six tenders were spread over all three buildings, either singly or as a group.
The buildings offered for sale were the two-storeyed former Waitaki County Council chambers, at 19 Eden St, which has a current rateable value of $640,000; the two-storeyed Burtons building, at 47-51 Thames St, which has three retail shops and a rateable value of $590,000; and the single-storeyed Bell building at 205 Thames St, with two retail shops and a rateable value of $400,000.
