The Lions District 202J convention covers the central South Island from Milton to Methven. Delegates and members from 40 clubs will attend.
Convention chairman Bob Kingan said yesterday accommodation providers were notified last year about the convention and expected no problem with delegates finding somewhere to stay.
The official opening will be held in the Opera House on the Friday night, followed by the business session, hosted by district governor Les Box (Port Chalmers), at the Waitaki Boys' High School auditorium the next day.
There will be a dine and dance at the Waitaki Recreation Centre that night, and a church and memorial service at the boys' high school Hall of Memories on Sunday.
