The school spent the last day of the term celebrating having a functioning library again after spending $50,000 repairing the damage, and on top of that, even more money on its contents.
Pupils dressed as book characters for the occasion.
And the children got a sneak preview of the yet-to-be-published book Greedy Cat and the Goldfish, by Joy Cowley.
The book was read by its illustrator, Robyn Belton, one of the guests for the afternoon opening.
Another guest was former teacher Jan Plieger, who taught at the school for about 20 years.
She left the school last year and had overseen the operation of its library and equipment, so was particularly pleased to see the library rebuilt.
The day's activities even included the final of the school's "Wimbledon" tennis championships, using a computer game on the big, flat-screen television in the library.
The original library was built in 2000 with community fund-raising and volunteer labour.
It housed library resources, plus audio and video equipment.
Lost in the fire were hundreds of books, many associated with present and past pupils.
The home and school association each year donates money to the school for books, and individual pupils select a book, read it, and put it in the library with their name written inside the cover.
