A single-car crash in North Otago closed part of State Highway 1 for several hours this morning.
A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the intersection of the highway and Bulleid Rd, south of Oamaru, at 2.45am after reports a driver had crashed into a power pole.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Oamaru Hospital with moderate injuries.
From 3.52am drivers were diverted between Thousand Acre Rd and Awamoa Rd until the road was reopened at 7.46am.
