Big day tipped
Organisers of this Sunday's Oamaru wine and food festival expect it to be the biggest yet.
Singer-songwriter Gin Wigmore, recently voted New Zealand's sexiest female celebrity, has proven a major drawcard.
About 2000 tickets have been sold for the festival, which will be held in the Oamaru Public Gardens.
The volume of pre-sales, compared with previous years, had been "amazing", co-ordinator Jo Sutherland said.
With 54 food and wine stalls and activities for children, it was going to be a "family day out", she said.
There will also be cooking demonstrations by Judith Cullen, and Steve Harrop will talk about the Waitaki wine industry.
