There was a role reversal at the Roxburgh racecourse yesterday as teams of sulky-pulling people took to the track.
More than 50 people braved freezing temperatures to race 100m down the track in teams of five - four ''horses'' and one driver - for a slice of the $1000 prize pool.
Minzin Farming won from Roxburgh Area School and McLellan's Plumbing.
However, the real beneficiary of the day was the Dunstan CT scanner suite.
The Roxburgh Lions and Rotary clubs had joined forces, just as their counterparts in Cromwell, Alexandra and Wanaka did in February, to raise funds for the suite.
Lions president Owen Johnston said about $10,000 was raised through the races and other activities.
