A record number of 90 images from throughout Central Otago have been judged in the seventh photographic competition organised by Alexandra's Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery.

Winners Olwynne Oliver, of Alexandra, and Thierry Huet, of Wanaka, were awarded first-equal status for their photographs titled Hoar Frost Lauder and June Evening Lake Wanaka, respectively.

Second place went to Maureen O'Hara, of Alexandra, for her Busy Bees photograph, taken in the Pines near Alexandra.

A presentation was made to the three winners at Central Stories recently, during which museum director Brian Patrick awarded them books about Alexandra and bottles of local wine.

Museum staff were thrilled with the high number and standard of the entries.

More than 350 peoples' choice votes were received, from which winners were decided.
