An accident involving a tractor has resulted in a patient, believed to be male and with serious head injuries, being airlifted to the Dunedin Hospital this evening.
Ambulance and police staff were called to a property near Hillview Rd on the outskirts of Alexandra about 5.20pm.
St John ambulance Christchurch Communications Centre manager Andy Gray said the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter was called to the property, believed to be a farm, about 10 minutes later.
It appeared only one person was injured in the incident, Mr Gray said.
No further information was available.
