The third annual Ride the Lake event, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, will be held in Cromwell next Sunday.
People can bike the 90km around Lake Dunstan either individually or in a relay team of four.
The ride starts at 10am from McNulty Inlet but registration is open from 9am. Registration is $25 per person or $20 if that person is a part of a relay team. It will cost an extra $10 for people registering on the day, or they can register earlier on the Cromwell Rotary website.
"We will be there till the last person comes in - and historically that has been very late," race director and Southern District Health Board (DHB) health promoter Marie Roxburgh said.
She started the event as a project for the Southern DHB, but Cromwell Rotary has since taken over the organisation.
About 15 entries had been received, which is well down on the 60 at the corresponding time last year. Proceeds will go the Teenage Abuse Protection Programme at Cromwell College.
