Earlier this month, Judge Stephen O'Driscoll decided in favour of the police, after a defended hearing for a young man arrested for disorderly behaviour.
The man's counsel, Russell Checketts, had submitted the procedures and processes followed by the police during the main festival weekend, September 25-26, were flawed and denied the rights of those arrested for minor offences.
Some people arrested had signed flawed guilty-plea letters and had not been given a summons to appear in court, Mr Checketts said.
In his decision, Judge O'-Driscoll said although police procedures that weekend were "less than perfect", there was no miscarriage of justice.
About 40 cases that had been postponed awaiting the result of the test case were called before justices of the peace Rory Gollop and Daphne Stewart yesterday. They involved minor offences - breaching the liquor ban, fighting, or behaving in a disorderly manner, and all the charges arose from that weekend. Twenty-six people were convicted and fined and the rest were remanded, most for diversion.
