Cyclist flown to hospital after Rail Trail fall

A woman in her 60s is being transported to Dunedin Hospital by the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust following an incident on the Otago Central Rail Trail this morning.

A St John spokeswoman said the incident happened at 9.23am near Ranfurly and it was understood the woman had had "some sort of fall" from her bike.

She was in a "moderate condition".

No other details were available, including whether the woman was cycling on her own or as part of a group.
