Boys found drunk in mall

Three intoxicated teenage boys were picked up by Wanaka police from Spencer Mall in Dunmore St at 1.20pm on Saturday and returned to their parents, after a member of the public reported concerns about their condition.

Constable Mike Thomas said yesterday one of the trio - two aged 15 and one aged 16 - was ‘‘quite sick''.

‘‘They said they had got the alcohol from a stranger, which is questionable,'' he said.

They were not charged.

- A 37-year-old Wanaka man received bruises and cuts in an alleged assault at the Red Rock bar just after midnight on Friday.
