An e-scooter rider is in a critical condition after colliding with a van towing a trailer in central Dunedin this afternoon.
She said the Serious Crash Unit had been notified and road diversions were put in place.
A police spokeswoman said the rider was taken to Dunedin Hospital after the collision at the intersection of Cargill St and Stuart St about 1pm.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said it responded with one ambulance, one rapid response unit and an operations manger.
One patient was in a critical condition.
